According to a report from Semaphor And other media outlets, Patrick Viti, who has worked for the National Geographic, New York Times and Time, has been tapped for the job of chief photographer, among others, although Viti has not responded to the role confirming the role.

Currently, Daniel Torok is handling the White House photography. Pictures of the official White House Flickr feed are mostly credited to him and Molly Relay, but it will be interesting to see that new photos come, if Viti’s name is among them.
Personally, I think any photographer who comes after Pete Suja has some big shoes to fill this role. He was able to take photos with such grace and compassion, something that can sometimes decrease in the white house photographers.
