The last weekend of the Adelaide Motorsport Festival attracted a record crowd for the city’s Parklands, as thousands of petrol heads proposed the Formula 1 season opener with a very well celebration of Australia’s motorsport scene.
F1, V8s, and Le Mans stars joined some of the most rare supercars in the world as they took a part of the old Grand Prix Circuit for two days and a night of track and street action.
Here is a taste of six of our personal favorite from this phenomenon.
Jake Hill, 1975 Shadow DN6B Formula 5000
Before the weekend, we thought that the Australian hero Walterrery Botas was adopted, but a disturbing gearbox on East-DTM Mercedes 190E put a stop to run its glory, allowing British touring car champion champion champion champion Jake Hill to four different cars (Can-AM Shadow, Siera, Siera, and MRS-MRS-MRS-MRS-MRS and MRS-MRS-MRS-MRS-MRS-MRS-MRS-MRS and MR X-MRS-MRS-MRS-MRS-MRDS and X-MRS-MRS-MRS-MRS-MRS-MRS-MRS-MRS-MRS-MRS-MRS-MRS-MRS-MRS-MRDS crowds.
Talking to autosport after the last day, Hill said: “Wow! What is a wonderful place, and what is a cool event. It is a matter of regret that an issue with the Can-M car limits our running, but it was created with a 500 rupees and NASCAR experience. Both have been in my bucket list for a very long time, and both were amazing to drive. ,
However, the favorite of the crowd was the pre-east-Oliver shadow DN6B. “Chassis is just amazing,” Hill continued, “This is as good as any F1 car of the period, but with an additional bonus of V8 on a large -scale V8.
“The experience that gives it is just incredible, balance was perfect, torque and power delivery sensation, and brakes were higher than jobs. And let’s be honest, it also looks completely business. ,

One of only two Australians (other Alan Jones) to run in F1 in Adelaide, Brabham opposed his time between HIS1990 Brabham BT59, and pre-dimon Hill1992 Brabham BT60B. Although the success in F1 here did not come in his way, Brabham will always be remembered for winning the championship of his incredible Australian F2 drivers in the F1 support race in 1987.
A series of mechanical failures left them in both practice and ability, meaning that they had to start the race backwards.
“Dad and I didn’t talk for three months,” Brabham remembered. “There was a bit of a scene, then suddenly, here we are both in Adelaide. Before the race, I went to her, grabbed her F1 pass and said, ‘You will find one of them better, I will need it soon’.
“Okay, he just ripped me ripping me,” You are ever ending on Formula 1 “. He was never more serious, so I told him where to go! Suddenly, I clicked something inside me. I will be honest, it could be honest, it could go in some way, but I just went so much that I had never gone before. Anger was determined.
“I think I made 21 places in the first lap alone, and lap 14 (out of 15), I was in the lead. Well, Dad was clearly running around as if he was holding Jackie Stewart and Kane Tierel. They were with me in the three podiums and Kane only said to them, ‘This is the time to bring them back to England Jack, because he has got a job in F3, and you know what you know, and you know what you know, Is’. “

On any other day, our focus will be purely on racing cars, but when the three -time supercarcs champions, and the seven -time Bathst 1000 winners, fall behind the wheel of one of the most exclusive hypercarkers in the world, it is time to pay attention.
Lyondes won the ‘Ten of the Best’ shootout at Pagani Huarara at the end of the festival, and told Autosport: “This is really the first time I have run it, and I have to be honest, it is more fun than F1 (1988 arrows A10B). Reply from. I was in the cockpit during that last run, listening to induction with direct ,

Adelaide was a high and climbing scene for the hill

Hill is a driver with very mixed memories of Adelaide, but he re -joined his old F1 season with his old Breham in this year’s program.
“I like to come here – it’s a place rich in memories and friends,” Hill told Autosport. “Obviously, I had extremes of both climbing and height. In 1994, when Michael (Shumakar) stopped me into retirement (and out of title dispute). Then, returning next year to win with two laps.
“You know, BT60B was not a good car, it was really quite dangerous, but in racing, you got to take every opportunity, and I was given the opportunity to show that I was in Formula 1.”

Established in 1856 in Adelaide as a Sandalry manufacturer, the name Holden is still a part of Australian learning as ‘Foster’. It is a matter of regret that the brand had stopped the production of cars a few years ago, but it was a spectacular restoration by Tony Soford to capture hearts in Adelaide.
Torna ASX attended the legend with Peter Brock in the legend and was just unbeatable on the touring car scene until 1979. The owner of the car Soford said: “I bought it back in 2005. It was living his early life as a racer, but was then used for the road. This standard seat was fitted with the exit of belt, everyday seats and a road-type, but in addition, it was still the same as it was, the last time it was, minus stickers. Is. “
