Des Robert and Laurent emphasize the importance of using proper brushes on wet vs. dry hair – because yes, different -different brushes bristles are wet, moist and suited for completely dry hair. “For wet hair, completely nylon bristle brushes are best suited, as they can completely submerge in water. Our favorite trick is to use a nylon bristle brush to apply hair mask, and has a deep position in the shower,” Des Robert and Laurent explain. “We do not recommend using a boar bristle brush when soaking wet hair, as water can damage natural bristles. However, you can use a boar bristle or mixed bristle brush, which well on the towel dried hair after the shower.”
As a pro-tip, co-founder recommends a good pre-shower hair brushing with pork bristles to help remove the product buildup on your skull, distribute oil, and get rid of your hair of pollution through gentle exfoliation-resulting in more intense shampoo.
“Wet hair is in its most delicate position – it is more elastic, meaning that it can easily stretch and snap. Using the wrong brush can cause unnecessary breakdown,” says Bomani. “For wet hair, a flexible paddle brush, detengaling brush, or a wide-sting comb the best. Flexible brisles (nylon or plastic) are equal to low rupture. If you should separate the wet hair, do it with a conditioner and start it from the end- think about it like a veteran thong.”
