Mercedes The Formula 1 team has covered its 2025 car, W16.
Like its rival teams, Mercedes had already revealed 2025 Leevari at the last week’s F1 75 launch event in London using an old model. It has now unveiled the launch of the W16 car that its driver George Russell and Debut Andrea Kimi Antoneley will contest with 2025 season.
W16 is aiming to make a fundamental change in its descent of the grassroots cars with Mercedes, which have proved to be very difficult to achieve in the optimal set-up window, and have seen dramatic performance swings from circuit to circuit.
Technical director of the team James Elison explained, “Our primary attention is to convert the slight reluctance of W15 into slow corners, as well as with an imbalance in tire temperature, which made the car inconsistent from session to session.”
The team explained that it has replaced the “every aerodynamic surface” of the car for 2025, as well as a new front suspension.
