More than one company brings robot vacuum with mechanical arm to CES 2025

It turns out that RoboRock isn’t the only company that’s brought a robot vacuum with a mechanical arm to CES 2025. Rival company DreamEye, which unveiled its climbing stairs Robot Vacuum, earlier in the week, is also working on a one-handed robot vacuum to pick up objects.

According to the company, the device is still a prototype, but the as-yet-unnamed Robo Vac was on full display at Dream’s CES booth. Given that this is still a prototype, the actual arm looks even more substantial than before Roborock’s Saros Z70It was very thick and had a large “claw” that looked like it might be able to pick up slightly heavy objects. (Roborock says its vac can pick up objects weighing up to 300 grams.)

Unfortunately, Dreamy wasn’t showing that she was actually holding anything, but I was able to see the hand moving up and down several times. It appears to be on the same device as the X50 as the prototype vacuum also came mounted on “feet” like Dream’s stair-stepping X50.

A Dream representative at the booth told me the company has been working on a prototype for some time, but decided to accelerate its plans for the vacuum at CES. After a quick glance above, I knew exactly what he was referring to: Dreame’s booth was located directly across from Roborock, which had a giant of its own handheld Saros Z70 on top of its booth. Was displaying the replica.

Maybe next year we’ll see two robot vacuum arms wrestling.
