The winners of Nature Photographer of the Year 2024 have been announced and Paola Della Rocca has taken the top prize.
Della Rocca captured what many consider the “holy grail” of wildlife photography: snow leopards. An Italian photographer captured not one but two snow leopards in the Spita Valley in northern India.

“This year, while searching for this mysterious kitten, I was lucky enough to encounter two adult siblings and capture different moments of their lives,” says Della Rocca.
“The most incredible day of this experience was February 1st. This image was anything but easy to obtain. I waited for six hours at the edge of the valley while the two brothers and sisters rested in a cave. The cold reached -25 degrees and intensified into a blizzard – sinking into my bones.
