I have been a fan of Espresso Display for many years and used 17 Pro Regularly while traveling to last year’s majority. In January, the company announced a new bright, light and small 15 supporter models And for my needs, it is even better.
Espresso display announced 15 Pro in January, but today finalized pricing and shipping estimates. 15 Pro Can be ordered globally Dispresso is displayed directly to $ 699 via Espresso And B&H will be available through photos “very soon.”
Prior to 15 Pro, the only way to achieve the more compact size of the monitor of the Espresso display was to select the original model that is now several years old and cap out on 1080p full HD resolution. Although this can be enough for something, 4K deficiency and more dated look for “chin” was not with me, so I continued to use the large 17 Pro 4K regularly while traveling.
As I said in January, after the announcement of 17 Pro, it lost a lot of its brightness compared to the original 15. If you wanted a slightly small monitor, you were forced to give a lot with 4K resolution with 4K resolution almost bare minimal with any laptop ships these days (especially from Apple, whose users are specially targeted), falling up to 1080p on a second performance.
When I wrote my review of 17 Pro last yearI mentioned that the portable display technically fits into my Go-to travel backpack ( Shimoda urban explore) And shares sleeves with my MacBook Pro. It does not do so clean, however: it is simply slightly wide and sticks to a couple of inch of the display. Since he is inside the pocket bag, it has never been a real issue, but it still bothers me.
This problem is no longer present with 15 Pro and it fits cleanly in that pocket, making it even easier to travel.
Espresso 15 Pro displays reviews: in use
Not only 15 Pro is small and easy to travel, but I am not giving any performance by switching to small displays. As with 17 Pro, the new 15 Pro supports full touchscreen support for both Windows and McOS and is also compatible with the dex -running iPhone, iPad and Samsung Galaxy devices. Espresso also provides a pen that allows the screen to be used as a display tablet, which allows for notes, sketching, markup, and more. I do not use the pen, but I can understand that it is valuable for those who enjoy that interface for Photoshop’s work.
Not only I am not giving anything with 15 Pro, I am really achieving a little. The 15 Pro 550 NITS becomes bright compared to the 17 Pro on the peak, which is 100 more NITs than its larger predecessors. Additionally, it can reach the high peak glow through a single USB-C cable, which is another benefit on 17 Pro, which requires the USB port to plug down in electricity (usually a host device and a wall outlet) or it cap on 400 NITs.
During my time with 15 Pro during my time, I used it together with Espresso ‘new stand, standing together with Stand+. A complaint with the previous stand of Espresso was that I was given the option to place the monitor on the edge of my laptop only while on the road, which meant that I needed a big hotel room table (which is not always one, especially in the tight hotel rooms of New York City and Tokyo). It was always I thought that the Espresso Monitor is more understandable than keeping the monitor above my laptop and was clearly heard by Espresso. The new stand+ can increase to a maximum height of 362 mm, which is a significant increase at the base 119 mm of the previous stand.
It works well to compact my working space, making me comfortably put my travel mouse on my right and on any SSD on the left. Nothing is crowded simultaneously and it just looks more natural.
Oh, and the stand+ is both smaller and lighter than the original stand, which is a huge boon because I got to move around in my bag too. Less weight is a very good thing.
I am not missing myself to any screen real estate that I am giving all these benefits. The 15 Pro is shorter than the 17 Pro, of course, but it is still a lot of work area to edit photos and videos comfortably. I still do not like the video on a single laptop screen when I am using Apple’s largest MacBook Pro option. In the Premier Pro, just receiving my library, sequence, and effects panels immediately compresses my video preview screen into a small part of the display. When my preview is small, I miss things; It is difficult to be accurate.
As it seems in the photo below, which I took in my hotel room in Prague, I dedicated only video preview to the entire 15 Pro. This is a huge improvement.
15 Pro is not worth saying that is different from 17 Pro, so make sure you have read the review what to expect with this small version. One thing I want to exclude is that like its elder brother, 15 Pro will cause a remarkable battery drain: This MacBook Pro will take a serious toll on the pro -life, make it dry within a few hours, which usually provides. You want to access a wall outlet or a portable battery (which also makes aspresso) if you intend to work for a longer period.
From an accuracy perspective, the screen is good but not right. Although it is not going to compete with a dedicated color-colored monitor, its surge is solid with 97.5% SRGB, 91% Adobe RGB, and 81.2% DCI-P3 with a average delta-E with 3.47 with a average delta-E, which is the main criminal with weakness in raids. This measured 17 is worse than Pro and may be due to high brightness production. If you care more about color accuracy – it is enough to accept a large performance for the trip – then go with 17 Pro. But if you are like me, you want small size and dip in accuracy is a tradeoff that I am ready to make, because I am not using performance for colorful work, but to get more screen space while on the road. It is “very close” to bring me there and if I need to check my work again, I always have my McBook Pro show.
Espresso displays 15 Pro has another advantage on its large counterpart: it is cheaper. 15 Pro with new stand+ Retail for $ 699 (€ 799)It is $ 100 cheaper than 17 Pro for a lighter and bright monitor with a more versatile stand. Together to shoulder, I recommend the new 15 Pro.
Bright, light, better
I have been traveling with an Espresso display for more than a year now, but the last few months have been the most pleasant with 15 Pro. I am even less worried about fitting the display in my bag and it also becomes bright compared to 17 Pro, making it easier on my eyes when it is used next to my McBook Pro. And, as I am addicted, the calibration of the monitor feels that I am watching an Apple display. This is not correct, but it is close.
Given that this performance is thick like an iPad and operated completely by USB-C, I leave myself to leave the house without it. I am disappointed in color accuracy, but perhaps this is because I am coming from the 17 Pro who performs very high performing. I positively Reviewed television It performs worse than 15 Pro, so I think it is based on your expectations and what you want to use for it.
What are the options?
As I said last year, when I reviewed 17 Pro, Apple users are going to see the most viable options in an iPad Pro. This is a “fine” second display, but it is not correct because it is not its primary design intent. It is, and it is expensive (although it is a multitasker). Other viable options are now The above 17 Pro Which, more expensive and less bright, larger and more accurate that matters to something.
There are a crowd of other options on the market. If you want to see something more economical and what should be a portable monitor, you are ready to adjust your thinking about it. Brand -like Viewsonic and its VX1655 4K OLED monitor The espresso is well reviewed and less expensive, but they are quite thick and have not been created by the excellent stand system Espresso. The Asus Zenscreen There is a valid option, although it operates more like a tablet and is small.
Should you buy it?
Yes. Espresso already displays One of my favorite products of 2024 And 15 Pro tops the list in 2025. Espresso Perform 15 Pro There is an excellent portable monitor that will appeal to those especially in the Apple ecosystem.
