Samsung is still working to bring its first Android XR headset, “Project Mohan” to the market, and new information shows that there will be some first-party controller to go with the company.
Like the Apple Vision Pro, Samsung’s “Project Mooohan” uses its external facing cameras to control UI by looking at the gestures with their own hands. Last year in the experience of our hands, our Abner Lee explained:
You bring your thumb and index finger together – referred to as “pinch” – to tap. There is a “ray” that is spread by your hand to gesture, as well as a pinch-to-zoom. These Android XR gestures are very straight and work well.
Unlike Apple, however, Samsung seems to allow physical controllers to work with their Android XR headset. Samsung first confirmed this In December 2024And now some clear first-sided gear has appeared.
Malevolent Reports that this model number is found “reference” for first-sided speed controllers with number ET-OI610. These controllers are not bundled with the headset, but should have an option after initial purchase for things like gaming. No more details about the report explains how the controller will work or what they look.
Samsung is expected to launch its Android XR headset later this year.
