The name of the last torchbearer of the Paris Olympic Games has not yet been revealed. It will be his turn to light the Olympic cauldron to kick off the Games on the Seine on Friday evening.

As tradition dictates, the torch was first lit at the site of ancient Olympia in April. According to the International Olympic Committee, the flame has been “a symbol of peace and friendship among nations since ancient times.”

The flame is always lit by the sun’s rays captured in the center of a parabolic mirror to “ensure its purity.” Each runner who carries the flame, Snoop Dogg included, carries with him the symbolic message of peace throughout his journey.

Snoop Dogg’s Olympic journey doesn’t end after passing the torch. The rapper is already set to serve as NBC’s special correspondent for the Olympics.

The 33rd Olympic Games will take place in Paris from July 26 to August 11.
