“After intensive evaluation of strategic options, we have determined that a court-pilgrimage is the best way to maximize the value of the process business,” Mark Jensen, Chairman and Member of the Special Committee of the Board of Directors. Said in a statement“We hope that the court-pilgrimage process will carry forward our efforts to resolve the operational and financial challenges faced by us, including a decrease in further costs and a solution of legal and lease liabilities.”
23andme says that It intends to “continue to operate its business” during bankruptcy proceedings and will not affect the customer’s access to data and membership.
“We have many successes, but I take equally accountability for the challenges we have today,” said Voseciki. “There is no doubt that the challenges faced by 23andme through a developed business model have been real, but my faith in the company and its future is unbreakable.”
