2025 CFL Free Agent Rankings: Quarterback

Quarterback is not only the most important position in football, but also the most important in all sports. In a passing league like CFL, it is extremely difficult to win without a first -rate passer.

So far, the league has 11 quarterbacks set to hit the free agency. Trevor Harris, Train Ford, Kaleb Evans, and Dustin Krum have signed all contract extensions, to avoid free agency, this offsen has signed this offsen, while Jake Maiir (Suscachewan) and McLeed Bethl-Thaampson (Montreal) signed new deals after new teams acquired their rights.

The league’s free agency communication window, often referred to as a legal tampering window, will be open from 2 to 9 February. During this time, the remaining pending free agents will be allowed to interact with teams around the league without restriction. Some players will agree to the terms on contracts with new teams, although they cannot formally change clubs until the free agency is officially running on February 11.

Be sure to return to this place tomorrow when we rank the pending free-agent running back and fullback.

Please note that “N” reflects national players (ie Canadian) and “A” represents American players.

1. Nick Arbakal, Toronto Argonats (A)

Talk about going from zero to hero. After a few bad years with Edmonton and Ottawa, Arbakal was out of a job, and his career was abolished and probably Chad Kelly was not suspended for the first half of the previous season, with which Argonauts one of him Bring back for seconds. With the team.

California, a 31 -year -old California, a 31 -year -old Camerilo. Thrown 799 yards, four touchdowns and three for interception during the regular season, leaving 1-0 as a starter, leading Toronto to a stunning gray cup win. He dumped 252 yards, two touchdowns and the injured Kelly for two interception and were named the most valuable player of the Big Game.

Head coach Ryan Dinwidi has expressed optimism about getting Arbakal back under contract But he is not yet signing the dotted line for 2025.

2. Jeremia Masoli, Ottawa Redblack (A)

Twelve -year -old CFL giants returned to the ground after two injuries in 2024 and the results were mixed. Masoli proceeded 1-2 as a starter in place of an injured Drew Brown, throwing 1,149 yards, five touchdowns and seven interception, and took the ball six times for 42 yards.

The best days of five-five-ten, 220 pound passer are definitely behind him-that will be 37 years old in August-but there are no quarterbacks with the level of his experience. Masoli has launched 59 career games, has been thrown for around 20,000 yards, and has consistently earned respect for his comrades.

3. Chris Strewler, Vinypeg Blue Bombers (A)

The 30 -year -old started his lonely this season, a game in which he threw 127 yards away and ran for 79 yards and a touchdown. These numbers symbolize the entire career of the Strewler – it is an aristocratic runner, an impressive combination of speed and power, but struggles to push the ball down through the wind.

Native of Crystal Lake, Il. Last year made average (minimum 50 attempts) at the lowest yard distance towards any quarterback effort in CFL, but a matchup has proved to be a nightmare to oppose the rescue with the ground. For a team to be better in short yards and deploy more creative run packages, the Strewler will add the correct agent – assuming, of course, he makes a complete recovery from the afflicted ACL afflicted in September.

4. Cameron Duke, Toronto Argonats (A)

The 26-year-old last season went 4–5 as a starter with argonots and finally lost the backup job behind Chad Kelly for Nick Arbakal. However, their number was not bad, however, he completed 71.9 percent of his near 1,444 yards, seven touchdowns and six interception and participated for 321 yards and four scores.

Duke does not have the biggest hand in CFL, but he is a young player who has shown that he can make good decisions with football and buy time with his feet. With only two years of CFL experience under its belt, six-foot of Shepherdsville, native of 210-pounds, Q. The right coaching staff should have some more space to develop when connected with the staff.

5. Sheya Patterson, Suskchewan Reflerers (A)

Six-Foot-1, 202-pound passerby spent the first four years of his professional career with six teams in three different leagues. Their transient methods finally ended in Radderville, where they got a chance to start seven games in their second year with the team, out of which six came early in the season, when Trevor Harris faced MCL with a sprain.

Patterson did not blow the door at all when given a top job, though. He dumped 1,655 yards, six touchdowns and five for interception, ran for 134 yards and seven scores, and posted a record of 2–4–1. The riders have lost confidence in the product of the University of Michigan, as they traded from Calgary for Jake Mair’s rights and signed a year expansion to serve Harris as a new backup.

6. Matthew Shiltz, Calgary Stampders (A)

The seven -year -old CFL veteran did not see the ground until the end of the last season due to an ankle injury and did not lighten it at all, throwing 438 yards, two touchdowns and two interception. Shiltz made his debut, which came against fellow non-playoff teams in Edmonton and Hamilton.

St. Charles, Il. Natives of the natives have been around the league for a long time and if they ever develop in an early-caliber quarterbacks, it seems that it would have happened so far. At the age of 32, the shiltz may be out of the chance to prove that he can play.

7. Tommy Stevens, Calgary Stampaders (A)

Indianpolis, six-foot-footing of Industries, 245-pound natives have proved to be an excellent short-yard quarterback, although he is not doing much to do anything through the wind yet. Stevens have introduced zero in three sessions in Cautown and have thrown away only 20 pass efforts, completing 11 of them for 82 yards and a touchdown.

Mississippi state product has increased for 25 scores in 685 yards and 52 career CFL Games, but it is a passing league. Its value will be limited until he shows that he can be a viable quarterback as a passer.

8. Dakota Propop, Edmonton Elks (A)

The 31-year-old has played seven seasons as a purely short-yard quarterback, running 186 times for 626 yards and 24 touchdowns. He has also seen a little action as a passer, throwing 676 yards, six touchdowns and four interception.

Native of Austin, Texas, has also proved that he can contribute to special teams, 14 tackles. There is no question on Prukop’s versatility, although it is wonder whether teams can be given better service using roster spots on a young developmental quarterback.

9. Brian Scott, Toronto Argonats (A)

Former Oxidantl College Standout has bounced around professional football for the last eight years, but has not yet found a real shot anywhere. In 2022, Scott threw 558 yards, five touchdowns and two for obstructing the USFL and since then completed five passes for 79 yards and a score in CFL.

Rolling Hills, a native of California, will be 30 years old in August, meaning that he is running out of time to create an impression anywhere. If nothing else, she is a gray cup for her name after re -adding Argonats after facing a broken leg in the pre -finals to the least Chad Kelly.

10. Dominic Davis, Montreal Ults (A)

The ten-year-old CFL veteran spent the last season with Ulouats, but did not attempt a pass as he filled the depth chart behind Kodi Fazardo and Davis Alexander, which was after the injury to Kaleb Evans to the season-up . He still made a state sheet, running for 39 yards and three touchdowns, but never saw time as a true passer.

Davis has been in CFL for a long time and will be 36 years old in July, meaning that his run may end. He Vinypeg, Ottawa, Montreal and EP with 134 career games for 3,967 yards, 14 touchdowns and 21 interception.

11. Logan Bonor, Calgary Stampaders (A)

The Utah State Products developed a 2023 season in Calgary and finally got the first time to start this last season, taking control of the annual Labor de Remach of Calgary against Edmonton. The results were disastrous as the boneer threw five blocks at the Commonwealth Stadium at a loss of 37–16.

At the age of 27, Bonner is still relatively young, but he is not He Young – Hek, he is only five months shorter than Jake Mair. Perhaps it is very early to write a boneer, but it is difficult to ignore your limited physical devices and destructive first beginning.
